Branding of Group’s Products:
Department of rural development, Uttarakhand has already developed a brand “HILANS” for marketing of rural produce. The brand is well established which is know also being now used for the marketing of produce produced by NRLM SHG. MOU with ILSP to use Hilans Brand, Outlets, Nano Packaging Units, Cool Chambers.
Packaging
Special emphasis is being given on packaging of SHG Products. In first phase packaging units have been established at district level. In Second Phase Packaging units will be established in 35 blocks. In Final phase all remaining blocks will be covered.
Marketing Centres/Outlets
SARAS district/block level marketing infrastructure have opened a new dimension in promotion of rural products and encouraged the groups and other stakeholders in the development of rural products/artisans. It is felt that USRLM has provided a platform not only for direct sales to rural markets, giving exposure to rural artisans/entrepreneurs to various aspects of marketing, and developing linkages with various other markets.
Fairs & Exhibitions
SARAS fair and local level exhibitions have been able to elicit wide participation by the beneficiaries of the programmes of the SRLM from all over the state/country. Groups/members bring an impressive range of rural products, which include handicrafts, textiles, artwork, furniture, items of daily use etc. The visitors show a lot of interest in these products and there is a huge direct sale of rural products. In addition to the direct sales, bulk orders for the products are also received during these exhibitions and the participants have been able to meet these orders to a large extent.
